Through the high concentration of scientific facilities in the State of Bremen, a competence network for marine biology, foodstuff technology and medicine has been created from which all partners and participants stand to benefit. Whether the call is for continuous cooperation or project-based teamwork, the short paths improve the transfer of knowledge, quicken the pace of development, and smooth the implementation into practice.
The teamwork within the network of biotechnological research facilities and the closeness to industry also promotes the commercial utilization of the fundamental research and applied development work, both for the blue and the red biotechnology.
Here Bio Nord forms the central point of this knowledge network, in which numerous firms are involved with the main topics of functional food, food safety, food analysis, food sensing, environmental biotechnology and biologically degradable materials, and biological polymers of a marine origin.
